Brecon & Dean Surveyors is an independent practice established by James Buckingham, a Chartered Surveyor with over 17 years’ experience in providing professional surveying services and property advice. James carries out 10 to 15 residential surveys and valuations per month. 

James has a bachelor’s degree with honours in English from Southampton, and a master’s degree with distinction in Real Estate Management from BCU. 

He achieved MRICS status during his years at Savills in Leisure & Trade Related Property, Commercial Agency, Property Development and Property Management, and then chose to specialise in Residential Property. MRICS demonstrates that RICS-qualified professionals have a chartered qualification and work to the very highest industry standards.

James also has RICS Registered Valuer designation, allowing him to undertake ‘Red Book’ valuation work - formal valuations, which can be relied upon by the instructing party, such as banks, HMRC, government bodies, charities, and the courts for dispute resolution through arbitration or mediation.
